What Success Looks Like In This Job

The Adams County/CSU 4-H Education Intern is responsible for working with the 4-H Extension Staff and assist in the organization and delivery of the Adams County 4-H Outreach and Enrichment Program. Primary job duties include preparing for and facilitating STEM-based enrichment activities to K-12 audiences and delivering lesson materials to partner schools, libraries, and recreation centers. Qualified applicants must be 18 years old and possess organizational, leadership, and communication skills, computer skills with Microsoft Office, access to transportation adequate for the job responsibilities and the flexibility to work varying hours.

Examples of Duties for Success

  • The intern must provide their own transportation to and from the office and the school, library, and recreation center partner locations.
  • Work under the supervision of the Adams County 4-H Extension Agents
  • Prepare lesson materials for enrichment activities
  • Facilitate lessons for K-12 audiences
  • Develop STEM-based lessons
  • Promote 4-H/Extension and recruit 4-H members through activities and programs
  • Work appropriately with all 4-H parents and youth and serve as a positive role model to 4-H youth
  • Any other duties as determined by the 4-H Staff as they arise
Qualifications for Success

  • Organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office programs.
