For candidates based in NY this position typically pays between $65,000 - $76,000 annually.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm; on-call rotation and overtime required.

Job Summary:

Responsible for overseeing the entire facility during the second shift. This includes ensuring that safety, quality, production, maintenance, sanitation, and personnel requirements are properly met at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily production and cleaning activities and schedules to meet business objectives;
  • Ensure that production efficiencies are maximized and waste is minimized;
  • Ensure positive employee relations and maximize labor efficiency;
  • Properly address and handle operational, maintenance, and employee issues in a timely manner;
  • Strive to meet identified goals;
  • Coach, develop, train, and motivate employees;
  • Properly and effectively communicate to employees, peers, and management;
  • Establish clear responsibilities and expectations for each position and ensure that each employee meets these standards;
  • Enforce and ensure compliance with all rules, policies, programs, and procedures, including but not limited to GMP's, SQF, Safety, Quality, Regulatory (State and Federal), Company, and Plant.
  • Conduct Incident Investigations for accidents, damage, mishaps, etc. in a timely manner and appropriately follow up with any identified corrective action;
  • Ensure that the highest level of housekeeping, cleaning, and sanitation is maintained at all times;
  • Administer coaching and corrective action as necessary;
  • Assume increased responsibilities as production requirements dictate;
  • Adjust work shifts dependent upon production and staffing needs;
  • Assume production manager responsibilities as needed in their absence.

Safety Responsibilities:

  • Work in a safe and responsible manner at all times, following all safety policies, procedures, and rules;
  • Report unsafe observations or conditions;
  • Immediately report an injury or accident to a manager;
  • Meet all company requirements for training, including but not limited to Log Out/Tag Out, HazMat Technician, PPE, PIT, Ergonomics, etc.

SQF Requirements/Responsibilities:

  • Support SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner following prescribed procedures;
  • Report food safety problems to a manager;
  • Position is backed up by Production Lead (Working Supervisor)

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years experience in Dairy Manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with HTST pasteurization.
  • Good computer knowledge is essential. (RSView, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to work well with people.
  • Good math skills working with fractions, percents and decimals.
  • Good reading, writing and communications skills.
  • Excellent organization skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand: Long periods (minimum of 6 hours)
  • Sitting: Occasionally for short periods.
  • Walking: Frequently.
  • Bending: Occasionally.
  • Twisting of Spine: Occasionally.
  • Lifting: Light (< 30 lbs) infrequently.
  • Carrying: Light (30-50 lbs) infrequently, distance 100 ft.
  • Pushing/Pulling: < 75 lbs without assistance infrequently.
