Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Physician Assistant to the Surgery/Orthopedics group at Kings County Hospital. The Hospital is part of theNYC Health + Hospitals System (NYCHHC). Kings County Hospital operates a world-renowned Level 1 Trauma Center, one of only three in Brooklyn, which serves 2.6 million residents of Brooklyn and Staten Island.

The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Medical Center To maintain its high healthcare delivery standards.

Responsibilities

The physician assistant in orthopedic surgery provides clinical and administrative services in the outpatient and inpatient setting. The individual evaluates and treats outpatients including emergency department patients under the supervision of an attending orthopedic surgeon as required. interaction with social service and case management for preoperative and post operative planning to facilitate timely discharges. The individual also acts as a first assistant for orthopedic surgical cases in the operating room, as well as assisting with fracture reduction and cast application in the outpatient and inpatient setting. The individual will be active in screening patients to assign patients to the appropriate outpatient clinics and provide tele-visits.

  • Participation in educational activities both required and departmental including conferences and continuing education.
  • Administrative duties both departmental and hospital related concerning orthopedic surgery
Qualifications
  • Current licensed NYS registration certificate
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified
