Job Description

The Director of Distribution & Logistics at CONMED, is responsible for planning, implementing, controlling and managing the corporate distribution center network to ensure all distribution centers are properly designed and set-up to ensure compliance to regulations, and can meet all customer expectations. This role will work cross functionally with senior leaders to realize the organization's commercial and corporate goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As a member of the leadership team, work closely with other functional leaders to develop, execute, and recommend short- and long-term distribution objectives to sustain and drive future organizational growth.

  • Build, develop, and lead a team comprised of distribution & transportation leaders.

  • Develop & implement a worldwide distribution strategy to achieve corporate objectives.

  • Achieve key financial indicators for distribution network.

  • Design, select and provide adequate systems and infrastructure in all distribution centers to meet company growth and increase customer expectations.

  • Build, develop and coach distribution team as well as communicate performance to expectations, engage & develop employees through succession planning & execution of succession plan.

  • Direct and coordinate organization's financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency.

  • Oversee distribution center operations ensuring that policies and procedures are followed and that systems are adequate to ensure compliance to CONMED quality system.

  • Ensure that facilities meet all regulatory and environmental requirements related to product storage, handling, preservation, labeling, etc.

  • Ensure that facilities are properly organized and have the manpower, equipment, and information systems to perform all necessary distribution functions.

  • Develop information systems to improve efficiency and accuracy within the distribution centers.

  • Provide training to the distribution center management teams and distribution center employees on various operating systems.

  • Ensure that all local regulations are followed within the municipalities that our distribution centers interface with CONMED insurance carrier to ensure that all distribution centers are properly protected from potential losses.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business Management, Supply Chain, Operations, or Engineering.
  • 10 or more years of distribution, supply chain, or logistics experience

Strongly Preferred:

  • MBA or Master's degree in related field
  • Experience leading a global enterprise
  • Experience successfully leading hourly and salaried teams

Hybrid Position

Travel Required: 25-35%
