Overview

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Temporary IT Service Operations Intern in the Wheeling, WV (GOIC) office.

Responsibilities

The IT Service Operations Intern position is a non-exempt position working under the general supervision of the Head of IT Service Operations with assistance by the Wheeling Support Specialist. This position is part of a professional team providing a single point of contact for the efficient resolution of technical issues that develop within the Orrick IS&T architecture. As a member of this team, the Intern will manage multiple priorities, generate innovative solutions to problems and develop skills required to support the efforts of the firms practice groups and administrative operations. Additionally, the Intern will be asked to work on special projects as defined.

  • Prioritize your work and effectively multitask.
  • Provide technical support by coming up with innovative workarounds and solutions to problems.
  • Log all support issue into the IT service management database including accurate descriptions and detailed work notes.
  • Arrive to work on time and be a team player.
  • Have the capacity to deescalate situations using a friendly demeaner and allow people the opportunity to describe problems or requests for service, while obtaining a sense of the priority and setting an appropriate time frame within the departments service level agreements if something cannot be resolved on first contact.
  • Perform computer imaging, be proficient with installing software including operating systems on various makes and model laptops.
  • Be organized and maintain the Wheeling office IT inventory.
  • Develop and keep up to date documentation on technical configurations.
  • Provide in office support of the firm's video conference equipment.
  • Set up and troubleshoot enterprise level printers.
  • Assist with equipment needs to setup and move offices. Understand how to hook up computers to monitors, docking stations, mice, keyboards, headsets, and misc. accessories that someone may need to work efficiently.
Qualifications
  • Current student enrolled in college in Business or Information Technology field of study.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency is a plus.
  • Experience with mobile phone troubleshooting focusing on Apple iPhone.
  • Computer hardware repair.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between $13.00 hour and $15.00 hour.

This is a short-term, temporary position. Our temporary team members are eligible for paid sick leave where required by location.
