Overview

The Center for Home Care Policy & Research at VNS Health, the largest nonprofit home healthcare agency in the United States, in collaboration with the School of Nursing at Columbia University and the University of Rochester, is seeking a Research Interviewer to assist with data collection in New York City. This innovative study aims to understand the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of home care patients and their caregivers related to infection prevention and control in the home environment. The Research Interviewer will recruit participants for the interview and conduct interviews in participant homes. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual who is passionate about research and willing to travel to participants' homes to conduct interviews.


Compensation:

$19.18 - $23.99 Hourly

What You Will Do

  • Call home care patients to screen them over the phone and recruit them for the study
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews in participant homes in NYC
  • Travel to the participants home to administer the survey tool
  • Audio-record the interview
  • Track recruitment efforts in an assignment sheet provided from the study coordinator

Qualifications

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid drivers license as determined by operational/regional needs Required


Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency, required
  • Bachelor's Degree in health care, social services or social sciences, preferred


Work Experience:

  • Educational background in a health-related field, such as public health, biology, etc.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
  • Proficient time management skills, with an emphasis on prioritization tasks is essential.
  • Excellent at engaging people on the phone/email is essential.
  • Have good computer skills for working with Microsoft Tools
  • Experience in social science or health research, preferred
  • Knowledge of home care, preferred
  • Experience in cold calling or customer service calls, preferred
  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively with team members towards shared objectives, preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to commit to project for at least 6 months
  • Needs to be comfortable talking with older adults
  • Needs to be comfortable to travel to the VNS patients' home in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Bronx
