Summary:

The Transportation Brokerage Sales Manager will be responsible for new business development and aggressive growth plan of a non-asset, transportation brokerage business, with a primary goal of building sales by prospecting for new clients through both outside and inside sales processes. Works in coordination with other company business units and clients, and be accountable for financial and growth performance of the brokerage.

Job Duties: -

  • Develops and manages a pipeline of new business opportunities through the use of inside sales processes and making outbound calls and meeting customers in person
  • Identifies new customers opportunities, negotiate, develop and manage new customer accounts
  • Establishes strong relationships with customers for gaining stable business volumes
  • Negotiates shipping rates with customers and carrier partners to assure highest margin possible for hauling shipments
  • Prepares proposals and presentations in responses to customer RFP's and requests for information
  • Develops strategy, tactics, sales plans, and profit targets
  • Negotiates contracts and pricing with clients
  • Identifies and reports on business opportunities in target markets
  • Identifies and analyzes customer requirements and ensure that the level of service provided, meets or exceed customer expectations
  • Sets and meets deadlines as per internal and external customer expectations
  • Delivers against growth and profitability targets
  • Other duties as required


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a 4 year university or college preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience with a heavy concentration on brokerage operations.
  • Minimum 3 years of successful management experience
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems, market rate tools/software, analysis with large data sets.
  • PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Access and Excel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills that demonstrate a proven ability to develop relationships with a range of internal and external customers.

  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Knowledge of domestic transportation and documentation for all utilized modes of transport
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance associated with US truck freight brokerage


Environment:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and temperate climate conditions.
